The Kentucky Coalition for Person Centered Care is a recently established
organization consisting of a group of stakeholders interested in pursuing the
implementation and progression of Person Centered Care throughout the long term
care profession for all Kentuckians.
Person Centered Care is about finding a decent and kind way to serve older adults
that makes their lives and the lives of their caregivers more meaningful. It's a
common-sense approach to bringing care back into care giving at the nursing home and
enriching the lives of those that live and work there.
Representatives from the Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities (KAHCF), the
Kentucky Association for Homes and Services for the Aging (KAHSA) joined with the State
Long Term Care Ombudsman and the Quality Improvement Organization to form this Coalition.
The group was officially formed on November 6, 2007 after some preliminary organization meetings.
